Operable Transoms
A transom is an operable piece of glass that sits between the top of the door and the ceiling, allowing for controlled ventilation.

Glass
Clear, low iron, textured or tinted, and coatings that resist the mineral spotting a steam room brings on faster than an ordinary shower.
Hardware finish
Chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, oil rubbed bronze, satin brass and brushed bronze, with the transom hardware matched to the door.
Transom placement
Where the transom sits and how it opens is decided with you: above the door only, carried across the full width, or set into the glass. Ceiling height usually settles it.

Quote and field measure
Send us your photos or plans. We will send you a quote and schedule a field measurement appointment.
Shop drawing and approval
We will send you your final design, with any optional upgrades, for approval.
Fabrication and installation
Once approved, your glass goes straight into production. Once it has passed quality inspection, we schedule the install.
Warranty
Backed for the life of the hardware
Every project carries a limited lifetime warranty on hardware and a two year warranty on all service. If a door needs adjusting, or something does not feel quite right, we come back and service it free of charge for two years after installation.

Common questions
What makes a steam enclosure different from a regular shower door?
A steam enclosure is sealed. The glass runs all the way to the ceiling instead of stopping at door height, and the gaps a normal frameless door leaves on purpose for airflow are closed up, so the steam stays in the room with you. That changes how the enclosure is measured, how it is sealed and how the door is hung.
What is a transom, and do I need one?
A transom is the operable panel of glass between the top of the door and the ceiling. It holds the steam in while you are using the room, and opens afterwards to let the enclosure dry out. Without one a sealed enclosure has no way to vent, so on a steam unit it is not really optional.
How much does a steam enclosure cost?
More than a standard frameless shower door. A steam unit is taller, needs a transom and its hardware, and takes more sealing work, so the price depends on the height of the ceiling, the size of the opening and the glass and hardware you choose. Send us photos or plans and we will give you a firm number.
Does the glass have to run to the ceiling?
For a steam room, yes. Steam rises, so an enclosure that stops short simply loses it to the rest of the bathroom. Running the glass to the ceiling is what makes the room work as a steam room rather than a hot shower.
Can you do a steam enclosure on a neo angle or a corner?
Yes. Any layout we build as a standard enclosure can be built as a steam unit, including corners and neo angles. The transom follows the shape of the opening.
Do you do sauna glass as well?
Yes. Sauna doors and glass walls are built to the same standard, with the hardware and clearances a hot dry room needs rather than a steam one. Tell us what the room is and we will build for it.
